Company History

High Mesa Consulting Group is an Albuquerque based organization which was formed in 1977. The firm began with a staff of only two. The goal of the firm was to provide general civil engineering services for state, federal, and local agencies as well as private clients. Parent company names include Goldberg-Mann and Associates, Inc. (1977-1980) and Tom Mann and Associates, Inc. (1980-1988) and Jeff Mortensen & Associates, Inc. (1988-2007). During this time the firm has shown continuous growth while establishing a record of surveying and engineering excellence and business responsibility. These qualities have been combined with a high level of professional integrity and dependability.

In 1980, Tom Mann purchased Barry Goldberg's interest in the corporation and renamed the corporation Tom Mann & Associates, Inc. In January 1988, following 10 years of service in the organization, ownership was transferred to Jeff Mortensen. The name of the firm was subsequently changed to Jeff Mortensen & Associates, Inc. In 1994, a portion of ownership was transferred to Juan Cala and Charles Cala, Jr. In 2001, additional portions of ownership were transferred to Grady Barrens, Richard White, Graeme Means and Joseph Solomon, Jr. In 2007, the name of the firm was changed to High Mesa Consulting Group, Inc. The aforementioned changes in ownership and name have occurred without significant changes in staff, client base, scope of services and general policies.

We have an outstanding record of continued growth, of expansion of services offered, and of providing top quality services to our clients. The growth and reputation of the firm are the direct outcome of individual efforts and close cooperation by all of our associates.
