APS Southwest (Atrisco Heritage) High School
Public High School
Portions of t his Project are being performed by High Mesa Consulting Group directly for Albuquerque Public Schools as a part of our on-call contract combined with the private engineering design and inspection being performed for the APS contract architects. The project also began as a site search for a new High School to be located on the west side of Albuquerque to help ease the overcrowding caused by residential development and provide for future growth in the area. A suitable site was identified and negotiated to be purchased by the district. High Mesa worked with the Water Utility Authority to prepare and execute a development agreement for public water and sanitary sewer requirements. High Mesa Consulting Group provided boundary and topographic surveys of the site and offsite utility corridors to support public infrastructure and site design. In addition to phased private on-site grading and paving plans. High Mesa Consulting Group has facilitated and provided a master drainage plan, a traffic impact study, a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP), a County conditional use permit approval, and public onsite and offsite water and sanitary sewer and storm drain designs through our on-call APS contract. High Mesa Consulting Group also prepared digital earthwork analyses and all construction staking and verification surveys for the mass grading phase of the project which included exporting approximately 80,000 cubic yards of excess material to a nearby APS elementary school site that required the imported material, thereby benefitting both sites and APS. The public infrastructure improvements will be staked and administered by High Mesa Consulting Group staff. High Mesa is also providing surveys and consultation with APS to acquire and replat two adjacent parcels to the south for future APS development. Phase 2 site improvements are currenty bidding.
