Design-Build Support Services for the expansion and renovation to “The Pit”. High Mesa Consulting Group is proud to be a part of the Flintco West, Inc. Team for the UNM Arena Renovation Project. The Renovation is expected to include a comprehensive update of the existing facilities and site improvements, an expanded building area, and the addition of luxury suites for event viewing. High Mesa Consulting Group has provided Surveying and Engineering services to the University of New Mexico as an on-call consultant since 1990. As a continuation of that past service, High Mesa Consulting Group provided the University and its architectural and structural consultants with a comprehensive Boundary, Topographic and Utility Survey of the Pit, including key interior features in the summer of 2008. This survey was supplemented in January 2009 to provide critical locations of selected structural components of the arena. The surveys identified columns, stairways, and tunnel access to the floor of the pit and have been used for preliminary design services and as a reference to the original structural design. Following completion of that effort, High Mesa Consulting Group has been selected to serve the Flintco team to provide construction surveying for the early work packages, the renovation and for additional design support. Currently we are staking utility improvements for relocation prior to beginning work on the structure. As existing utilities are uncovered during these relocation efforts, we are acquiring as-built utility data.
